Five different players recorded multiple base hits for Cherokee as the Lady Warriors defeated Woodstock 8-0 in five innings last Thursday night in Canton. The win improved Cherokee’s record to 6-5 overall and 3-3 in Region 4AAAAAAA, third place behind Lassiter and Etowah. The loss dropped Woodstock’s record to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in Region 4AAAAAAA. Emma Worley picked up the win for Cherokee, allowing three hits and striking out three in five innings. Hannah Forbes finished 2-for-2 for the Lady Wolverines, while Kacie Wiggins and Molly Wiggins each recorded hits as well.
Creekview 16, Osborne 0: Mattie Lathem earned the win as Creekview won convincingly over Osborne in the first game of last Thursday night’s doubleheader.
Creekview 15, Osborne 0: Sophia Jiminez earned the win for Creekview as the Lady Grizzlies improved their record to 14-1 and 10-0 in Region 6AAAAAA.
Etowah 8, Walton 0 (5 inn.): Kendall Parks finished 2-for-2 with one run scored and four RBIs as Etowah defeated Walton last Thursday night in Marietta. Natalie Harper earned the win, pitching five innings while allowing five hits and striking out seven.The win improved Etowah’s record to 9-3 and 6-0 in Region 4AAAAAAA.
Sequoyah 5, Dalton 2: Macy Robinson earned the complete-game win, while Brylee Burns finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs to help lead Sequoyah to victory over Dalton at home last Thursday night. The victory improved Sequoyah’s season record to 11-4-1 overall and 5-3 in Region 6AAAAAA.
Etowah 6, Sequoyah 5: Kinsey Norton and Natalie Harper combined to pitch seven innings and strike out four batters as Etowah defeated Sequoyah on the road last Wednesday night. Bri Condon finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and three RBIs to lead Etowah, while Lauren Anderson finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs in Sequoyah’s comeback attempt.
River Ridge 3, Pope 2: Sydney Osada struck out nine batters and allowed zero earned runs as River Ridge defeated Pope last Wednesday night at home. The victory improved the Lady Knights’ season record to 8-6 overall 5-3 in Region 6AAAAAA. Lily Bell finished 2-for-3 with one run scored, while Cat McCauley finished 1-for-2 with one runs scored and two RBIs.
Cherokee 14, Roswell 0 (4 inn.): Hope Jiles finished 3-for-3 with one run scored and three RBIs, while Jordyn Stanfill finished 2-for-3 with one run scored, two RBIs and a home run as Cherokee shut out Roswell in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Emma Worley earned the win, allowing three hits through four innings.
Roswell 5, Cherokee 2: Jordyn Stanfill finished 1-for-3 with one run scored, two RBIs and a home run as Cherokee fell to Roswell in the second game of a doubleheader.
Creekview 6, Harrison 2: Ari Wright’s grand slam in the top of the fourth inning turned out to be the decisive blow as Creekview defeated Harrison on the road. The Lady Grizzlies took a 6-0 lead before Harrison was able to score two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Wright finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and four RBIs, while six other players added base hits for Creekview. Anslie Pettit picked up the win.
Etowah 10, Woodstock 0 (5 inn.): Kinsey Norton pitched five innings, allowing one hit and striking out seven batters, as Etowah defeated Woodstock in the first game of a doubleheader. Alaina Smith finished 2-for-2 with one run scored and two RBIs.
Etowah 8, Woodstock 0 (6 inn.): Paige Patterson finished 4-for-4 with two runs scored, four RBIs and a home run as Etowah defeated Woodstock in the second game of a doubleheader. Natalie Harper picked up the win, pitching six innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.
River Ridge 4, Sprayberry 1: Sydney Osada struck out 16 batters and earned the complete-game win while helping lead River Ridge to victory over Sprayberry. Gracie Hughes finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
