Sequoyah scored two runs in the top of the first inning and added a few more late to beat Allatoona 4-0 on Thursday night in the second round of the Region 6AAAAAA tournament.
Sarah Squillace, Katie Vansword and Candace Winder each finished with two hits. Lauren Anderson finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Anslee Day finished 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Macy Robinson picked up the win, going the distance and allowing four hits, no runs and striking out seven.
The Lady Chiefs (19-8-1) will play at noon Saturday against Creekview in the third round of the Region 6AAAAAA tournament at Heritage Point Park in Dalton.
Sprayberry 17, River Ridge 5: Lily Bell finished 3-for-4 with two run scored and one RBI as River Ridge lost in the second round of the Region 6AAAAAA tournament.
Grace Hamrick finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Becca Bray, Micah Jones and Alexis Haehn each finished 1-for-3 with one run scored.
River Ridge (14-8) will play at 2 p.m. Saturday against the loser of the Creekview-Sequoyah game at Heritage Point Park.
Cherokee 3, Mount Paran 1: With her team trailing 1-0, Jordyn Stanfill’s three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning lifted Cherokee to victory.
Cherokee (17-7) tallied only two hits in the game, from Stanfill and Emma Worley. Worley pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and striking out five.
Cherokee will play a 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Region 4AAAAAAA rival Walton.
Etowah 4, River Ridge 3 (8 inn.): After Bella Adams tied the game at 3-all with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh, Bri Condon’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Etowah the victory at home.
Adams finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Kinsey Norton pitched all eight innings for Etowah (15-7), allowing six hits and striking out 12 batters.
Lily Bell finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs for River Ridge.
Etowah will play Lassiter at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a Region 4AAAAAAA game.
