Creekview

Despite losing 12 seniors to graduation last May, the Lady Grizzlies look just as formidable as they did last year through the first few weeks of the 2019 season. After a two-game sweep of Region 6AAAAAA foe Allatoona on Thursday and Friday, the Lady Grizzlies defeated Woodstock and Cherokee on Saturday to move their season record to 7-1, 5-0. The 4-3 victory over Cherokee came in walk-off fashion when Peyton Fitzpatrick drove in Ella Campbell with an RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Creekview sits tied with Harrison atop the region and will play at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday at South Cobb.

Cherokee

After winning their season opener at River Ridge last week, the Lady Warriors lost both games this past weekend in walk-off fashion.

Cherokee (1-2, 0-0 in Region 4AAAAAAA) fell 4-3 to Creekview and 8-7 to South Forsyth on Saturday. Hope Jiles finished 3-for-4 with one run scored against Creekview while Celan Trowers finished 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI against South Forsyth.

The Lady Warriors will begin region play on Tuesday when they travel to Lassiter to take on the Lady Trojans at 5 p.m.

River Ridge

The Lady Knights (6-2, 4-1 in Region 6AAAAAA) fell last 9-1 last Thursday at Harrison. Lily Bell, Cat McCauley and Payton Halford all recorded base hits for River Ridge in the loss.

The Lady Knights will play at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at home against Sequoyah.

Sequoyah

The Lady Chiefs (6-2, 3-2 in Region 6AAAAAA) earned three wins this past weekend with victories over South Cobb, North Paulding and Mount Paran Christian. Lauren Anderson recorded six hits and six RBIs in the three games while Macy Robinson picked up two of the wins in the circle. Nora Greene earned the win against Mount Paran and Kayla Scheive tallied the save.

Sequoyah currently sits in fourth place in the region behind River Ridge, Creekview and Harrison. The Lady Chiefs will play at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at River Ridge.

Woodstock

The Lady Wolverines split their pair of weekend games with a 6-4 win over South Forsyth and a 9-4 loss to Creekview. Mackenzie Levine finished 4-for-5 with three RBI in the win over South Forsyth while Molly Wiggins picked up the win. Nikki Rogers finished 2-for-4 with one RBI in the loss to Creekview.

Woodstock (2-3, 0-0 in Region 4AAAAAAA) will begin region play at 5 p.m. on Tuesday when it host Walton in the first game of a doubleheader.

Etowah

The Lady Eagles (1-1, 0-0 in Region 4AAAAAAA) will play at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Roswell High School in the first game of a doubleheader.
