Cherokee outhit Walton 12-4 and took advantage of six errors to win 12-0 in four innings in the first game of a home doubleheader Thursday.
Gracie Mixson, Celan Trowers, Parker Modica and Ashlyn Mickler each recorded multiple base hits while Emma Worley picked up the win.
Cherokee 11, Walton 0 (5 inn.): Jordyn Stanfill finished 2-for-3 with a double, home run and four RBIs has Cherokee won the second game of the doubleheader.
The win improved Cherokee record to 8-6 overall and 5-3 in Region 4AAAAAAA.
Skylar Harrelson finished 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI, while Parker Modica picked up the win, pitching five innings and striking out one.
Cherokee will play at 11:45 a.m. Saturday against Gordon Lee at the East Carrollton Softball Complex.
Creekview 13, Sprayberry 1: Anslie Pettit picked up the win as Creekview improved to 15-3 overall and 11-0 in Region 6AAAAAA.
Creekview will play at 5:55 p.m. Thursday at home against Dalton.
Lassiter 2, Etowah 1: Paige Patterson finished 2-for-4 and Kinsey Norton pitched a complete game as Etowah fell to Lassiter in the first game of a doubleheader.
Norton went the distance, allowing two earned runs and striking out six.
Etowah 4, Lassiter 2: Natalie Harper earned the complete-game win as the Lady Eagles took the second game of the doubleheader and improved to 9-4 overall and 6-1 in Region 4AAAAAAA.
Kiersten James finished 3-for-3 with one run scored, while Paige Patterson and Alana Smith each finished 2-for-4 at the plate.
Etowah will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Roswell.
River Ridge 7, Allatoona 6: After a six-run rally by Allatoona in the top of the seventh tied the game at six, River Ridge scored one more in the bottom of the inning to hold on for victory at home.
The win improved the Lady Knights to 10-6 overall and 7-3 in Region 6AAAAAA.
Gracie Hughes finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Elyse Navarro finished 3-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs. Sydney Osada picked up the win for River Ridge, which outhit Allatoona 13-8.
River Ridge will play at 5 p.m. Tuesday at South Cobb.
Sequoyah 16, Osborne 0 (3 inn.): Sequoyah scored eight runs in each of the first two innings and won at home.
Lauren Anderson finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs, while Nora Green picked up the win.
Sequoyah will play at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday at Dalton.
Woodstock 9, Roswell 0 (5 inn.): Woodstock scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning to break the game open in the first game of a doubleheader in Roswell.
Nikki Rogers finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored and one RBI, while Hannah Forbes finished 1-for-4 with one run scored and three RBIs. Mak Levine finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Molly Wiggins picked up the win while striking out five.
Roswell 1, Woodstock 0: Roswell scored one run in the top of the second inning and made it stand in the second game of the doubleheader.
The loss dropped Woodstock to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in Region 4AAAAAAA.
Molly Wiggins pitched a complete game for Woodstock, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out two batters. Woodstock did not record a hit.
Woodstock will play at 5 p.m. Thursday at Lassiter.
Sequoyah 8, Cherokee 7: Sequoyah rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the non-region game.
Sarah Squillace led Sequoyah with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored, while Macy Robinson picked up the win for the Lady Chiefs. Anslee Day and Abby Schreiner each finished with two hits for Sequoyah.
Cherokee outhit Sequoyah 11-6, but it was unable to get the final out in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win.
Jordyn Stanfill and Parker Modica each finished 3-for-4 at the plate, while Hope Jiles, Skylar Harrelson, Celan Trowers and Ashlyn Mickler each recorded two hits.
