Teon Burroughs rushes the passer in the 2021 spring season

Following his 11-tackle game in Reinhardt’s season-opening loss to Kennesaw State, senior defensive tackle Teon Burroughs was named the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Burroughs led the Eagle defensive front against an Owl team ranked 20th in the FCS. This is the defensive lineman’s third career MSC weekly award.

Coming in fourth on Reinhardt’s tackle list in the Spring season with 33 tackles, Burroughs is on pace to eclipse that mark this Fall. He also led the Eagle defense in sacks with five.

Union running back Isaiah Wright was named MSC Offensive Player of the Week, and Faulkner kicker Caden Davis rounds out the group with MSC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Reinhardt began its season with a 35-25 loss to Kennesaw State on the road. This week, the Eagles move on to host Warner on Saturday, Sept. 11, at noon.
