Girls Soccer

Creekview 1, Sprayberry 0: Freshman Megan Allen’s goal was the difference Friday, as Creekview (5-3-1, 2-2 Region 6AAAAAA) edged Sprayberry.

The Lady grizzlies controlled the ball for most of the first half but were unable to find the net until late in the second half, when Maddi Rhodes was fouled to set up a free kick. Channing Pantano took the free kick and found Allen, who beat her defender and put the ball into the side netting for the game-winning goal.

Bri Alexander got the shutout for the Lady Grizzlies, who will be back in region action Tuesday against Sequoyah.

Girls Lacrosse

Creekview 14, Lambert 13: Creekview (4-2, 2-1 Area 6AAAAAA-AAAAAAA) held off a late push to come away with the one-goal area win over Lambert Friday.

Kate Gauntlett led the offense with six goals and two assists. Karina Van Der Walt added four goals and a pair of assists, and Lizzett Van Der Walt, Nina Thompson, Maya Maldonado and Lyriel Todd each added a goal to give Creekview a cushion before a frantic finish.

Boys Lacrosse

Creekview 10, River Ridge 7: Creekview (6-2-1) held off River Ridge (3-4) Saturday for a non-area win.

Jack Manning and Zach Pearce anchored the defense in front of goalkeeper Davis Hagle, who made 13 saves on 20 shots.

Offensively, Pierce Quarles led the way with three goals and three assists. Jared Roger had four goals, and Gage Mugge added a pair of assists.


River Ridge 5, Dalton 3: River Ridge (6-9, 4-2) got back to its winning ways Friday with a Region 6AAAAAA win over Dalton.

Justin Snodgrass was 1-for-3 with two RBIs from his leadoff spot to lead the Knights offensively. Carson Bell was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Hayden Duffield was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Mason Port and Diego Perez also drove in runs.

Brandon Smith got the win in relief, allowing just one run while striking out five in three innings.
