Etowah ran away with the Cherokee County weight lifting championship Saturday at Sequoyah with 77 points, well ahead of Cherokee (57), Sequoyah (53) and Woodstock (28).

The Eagles were led by individual wins in six of the 10 weight classes.

Remington Adams won the 141-150-pound division, while Brayden O’Neil won at 151-160 pounds. Hunter Coleman won the 161-170 pound title, and Tim Jones (181-190), Jared Weitkamp (206-225) and Cole Milovanovic (246-and-up) also claimed titles.

Cherokee was led by 140-and-under titlist John’nathan Robinson, while Hunter Pendley added a championship at 191-205 pounds.

Conner Johnston won Sequoyah’s only title at 226-245 pounds, while Amari White (141-150) and Brooks Bynum (181-190) tied for Woodstock’s best finish in second.
