Creekview’s Ashton Schroyer strides toward a pitch in a 2019 game against Etowah.

Creekview’s softball team is on roll to begin the 2021 season, having won 10 consecutive games, and is a perfect 5-0 in Region 7AAAAAA.

The high-powered offense, led by Sammi Martin, Ashton Schroyer and Cassie Brundage, has scored at least 13 runs in three games, including a 13-6 win over West Forsyth in the season opener.

Creekview has scored three runs or less just twice so far this season.

“It has been a full team effort so far this season,” coach Jennifer Maloney said. “I am extremely proud of the resiliency and determination of this group.”

Creekview has only given up 14 runs this season across 10 games — a 1.4-run average. Scoring nearly 80 runs on offense in the same span, the Lady Grizzlies are poised to continue that production, winning games by an average of over six runs.

With a strong pitching staff backing the explosive offense, Creekview is in a position to improve on its 26-7 overall record from last year.

“The Lady Grizzly offense has scored 77 total runs so far this season,” Maloney said. “The pitching staff has only given up 14 total runs with an ERA of 0.77.”

Creekview will travel to the Region 7AAAAAA second-place team River Ridge on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
