Former Marietta High School standout Dansby Swanson has finally settled in as the Atlanta Braves' shortstop, and he looks like he will be there for many years to come.

The Boston Red Sox's Michael Chavis, who played at Sprayberry, was named American League Rookie of the Month for May, but he has recently found out that it does not take long for pitchers around the league to make adjustments. That is the reason why Chavis is going through his first slump in the big leagues.

As of Friday, Cobb County had six players in the major leagues, along with many others who may soon join them. That list potentially grew over the last week when four more with Cobb County ties -- Ivan Johnson, Zac Kristofak, Josh Coburn and Deion Walker -- were selected in the major league draft.

With all the talent the county has produced over the last seven years, here is a look at some of the best prospects and current major leaguers from Cobb County who could be assembled. Statistics are through Thursday's games.

C Tyler Stephenson, Kennesaw Mountain HS

Current team: Chattanooga Lookouts (Cincinnati AA affiliate)

Stephenson was drafted out Kennesaw Mountain in 2015 and been working his way up the Cincinnati Reds’ organization. The right-handed catcher has spent all of 2019 with Chattanooga, where he was hitting .263 with three home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

1B Nate Lowe, Pope HS

Current team: Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay AAA affiliate)

Lowe has split his time in 2019 between the big league Rays and Durham. In his 10 games with Tampa Bay, Lowe batted .263 with two doubles, five runs and an RBI.

Lowe was batting .259 through 44 games with Durham, totaling 15 doubles, four homers and 23 RBIs.

2B Michael Chavis, Sprayberry HS

Current team: Boston Red Sox

Since his call-up, Chavis has started at every position in the infield except shortstop in the absence of four-time All-Star Dustin Pedroia.

The righty had a .255 average and was tied for the sixth-most RBIs on the Red Sox's roster with 28. Chavis has 22 runs and 10 home runs. He has also been in the field for 16 double plays.

3B Josh Lowe, Pope HS

Current team: Montgomery Biscuits (Tampa Bay AA affiliate)

Like his older brother, Nate, Lowe plays in the Tampa Bay organization, but he has spent the whole season in Montgomery. Lowe has scored a team-leading 32 runs in 50 games for the Biscuits to complement his team-leading nine home runs.

The left-handed batter has driven in another 26 runs with his .231  average.

SS Dansby Swanson, Marietta HS

Current team: Atlanta Braves

By all accounts, the most prominent current Cobb County baseball product, Swanson has had a strong start to his season. In his third full season with Atlanta, Swanson was hitting .267, ranking third on the team with 13 home runs and led the Braves with three triples and 43 RBIs.

Swanson has also turned 30 double plays and was tied for the 11th-most putouts among shortstops in the majors with 71.

OF Reggie Pruitt, Kennesaw Mountain HS

Current team: Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto A team)

Pruitt was batting .259 with a team-best 37 runs, 25 stolen bases and five triples.

The former Mustang also has 52 hits, a homer and had been walked 25 times. Pruitt had also recorded 87 putouts in center field.

OF Taylor Trammell, Mount Paran Christian

Current team: Chattanooga Lookouts (Cincinnati AA affiliate)

Drafted in 2016, Trammell has worked his way up the Reds' organization with Stephenson. Trammell was hitting .237 for the Lookouts with a team-high 30 runs. He had been walked 38 times and recorded 97 putouts.

OF Trey Harris, McEachern

Current team: Florida Fire Frogs (Atlanta Braves Advanced A affiliate)

Since being drafted last year, Harris and has already advanced to his third rung of the Braves' organizational ladder, recently getting a promotion from Class A Rome. He earned South Atlantic League All-Star status while playing at Rome and was hitting .374 with eight homers, 46 RBIs and four stolen bases, including six hits in his first 12 at-bats with Florida.

DH Stevie Wilkerson, Pope HS

Current team: Baltimore Orioles

Wilkerson, a second baseman, third baseman and outfielder, has played 35 games for Baltimore this season and was fifth on the team with five home runs. The former Greyhound also had 14 RBIs and 14 runs to add to his steady season.

RHP David Hale, Walker

Current team: New York Yankees

Hale is experiencing a resurgence to his career. After four seasons in the big leagues with the Braves and the Rockies from 2013-16, he spent most of 2017 and 2018 in the minors. He came up and pitched for New York late last season and earned another shot with the Yankees this season. He has pitched 10 innings of relief this season, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.70 ERA with a save.

LHP Travis Bergen, Kennesaw State

Current team: San Francisco Giants

In his first year in the majors, Bergen had a 2-0 record and a 4.24 ERA in 18 games. He had 15 strikeouts and batters were hitting only .222 against him.
