SATURDAY

North Cobb 7, Cherokee 5

Cherokee scored one run in each inning from the second to the sixth but a two three-run innings from North Cobb gave Cherokee the loss in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader in Canton. The loss dropped Cherokee’s record to 7-4.

Lex Kenny finished 3-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs while Adam Dorn and Carson Mynatt each finished with two hits apiece.

Cherokee 8, Alpharetta 2

A six-run bottom of the sixth helped propel Cherokee to a win in their first game of Saturday’s doubleheader at home.

Austin Cole finished 3-for-3 with one run scored and three RBIs while Lex Kenny finished 3-for-3 with a double a three runs scored. Tyler Presnell finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run scored and two RBIs.

Cameron Stroup earned the win pitching six innings allowing five hits, two earned runs three walks and striking out three. Tyler Goddard pitched a perfect top of the seventh to close out the game.

River Ridge 7, South Cobb 1

Carson Bell’s two-run home run in the top of the first put River Ridge on the board first and the Knights went on to victory on Saturday afternoon. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for River Ridge (5-7, 1-1) and gave the Knights their first Region 6AAAAAA win of the season.

Bell finished 2-for-3 with a double, home run, one run scored and two RBIs while Andrew Neubert finished 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and one RBI. Jack Hohla picked up the win pitching three and 2/3 innings allowing one hit, no walks and striking out six.

Lambert 5, Woodstock 4

Woodstock scored twice in both the sixth and seventh innings but a 5-0 was too much to overcome as the Wolverines fell on Saturday on the road. It was the second low in-a-row for Woodstock (9-3).

Preston Gunnell finished 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs scored and two RBIs while Cooper Torres finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and one walk. Griffin Peck finished 1-for-4 with a double and one run scored.

FRIDAY

Cherokee 10, Cedartown 9/ nine innings

Austin Cole scored on Adam Dorn’s bunt single in the bottom of the ninth inning giving Cherokee the walk-off win on Friday night at Lakepoint Sports Complex in Emerson.

Cherokee led 9-3 heading into the seventh inning but a six-run top of the seventh by Cedartown pushed the game into extra innings.

Dorn finished 2-for-4 with a double, triple, one run scored and two RBIs while Lex Kenny finished 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Brady Calloway finished with five innings pitched while allowing two hits, three unearned runs, four walks and seven strikeouts.

Lambert 12, Etowah 1

Carson Kirby’s RBI-double drove in Michael Sharman in the bottom of the fourth but Etowah was unable to produce any more offense as the Eagles fell on Friday night at Lakepoint Sports Complex in Emerson. The loss dropped Etowah’s record to 3-9.

Kirby finished 1-for-3 with one RBI while Cole Ellis, Sharman and Michael Straub each finished with one hit apiece.

Allatoona 6, River Ridge 5/ nine innings

River Ridge scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to extend the game to extra innings but Allatoona scored in the top of the ninth to prevail over the Knights on Friday night at River Ridge.

It was the first Region 6AAAAAA game of the season for the Knights who fell to 4-7, 1-0.

Carson Bell finished 3-for-4 with one RBI while Hayden Duffield, Taylor Harris and J.D. Reddiger each finished with two hits apiece.

Hillgrove 5, Woodstock 2

A three-run top of the first inning gave Hillgrove the early lead and Woodstock was unable to complete the comeback as the Wolverines fell in their second game of Friday night’s doubleheader at home. The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for Woodstock.

Christian Presier finished 1-for-3 with one RBI while Cooper Torres, Kameron Douglas and Spencer Middleton each finished with one hit apiece. Blake Aita pitched three innings allowing two hits, three unearned runs while striking out four and walking one.

Woodstock 5, North Cobb 4

Woodstock scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to help earn a come-from-behind win on Friday night in the first game of Friday night’s doubleheader at home.

Justin Boyd, Cameron Douglas and Christian Presier each finished 1-for-3 with one RBI apiece while Max Parman picked up the win pitching 2 and 2/3 innings allowing two hits while striking out three. Cason Rich pitched four innings allowing two hits, three unearned runs while striking out eight.
