Swimmer of the Year:

Delaney Harrison, Sequoyah, Jr.

♦ Scored 32 individual points at the county meet.

♦ She broke two new school and county records in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.64, and with a time of 50.97 in the 100-yard freestyle.

♦ She won the state 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.54, beating her first place time of 52.00 from last year.

♦ Second place in the state 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23:25, beating her second place time of 23.80 in this same event last year.

“This season was my favorite of my three years,” Harrison said. “Coach (Cora) Hodgins created a new environment on the team as the new head coach that I really enjoyed. I ended up enjoying this season and the way meets were run, even with the weird guidelines. I was super excited about breaking both of my county records and went into the state with high expectations for myself, which I exceeded. I owe a lot of my success to my teammates for keeping me motivated throughout the year.”
