Swimmer of the Year:

Grant Davis, Sequoyah, Sr.

♦ Scored 32 individual points at the county meet.

♦ Broke his own school and county records in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:41.95, beating his previous time of 1:42.42 at this event in 2019.

♦ Reclaimed the title of county champion in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:43.97.

♦ State runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:30.92.

♦ Fifth in the state in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:40.52.

“This was definitely a season to remember for me because the beginning of it was odd with all the guidelines in place, and the ending of it was weird because I got COVID near the end of the season,” Davis said. “Going into the county meet, I had been out of the pool for four weeks due to COVID, and going into the state meet, I only had about 10 practices. Given all of this, I was very proud of my accomplishments, as well as our 200-yard freestyle relay team at state who was able to break our team record.”

ALL-COUNTY TEAM

Logan Geoghagan, Sequoyah, So. — Scored 25 individual points at the county meet. Finished third in 50-yard freestyle and second in 500-yard freestyle.

Zackary Zamorano, Etowah, Sr. — Scored 32 individual points at the county meet. Won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.

Cole Dallas, Etowah, Sr. — Scored 29 individual points at the county meet. Won the 100-yard butterfly and finished second in 200-yard freestyle.

Noah Leiker, River Ridge, So. — Scored 26 individual points at the county meet. Second in the 200-yard individual medley and second in 100-yard breaststroke.

Bridger Putzer, River Ridge, Jr. — Scored 26 individual points at the county meet. Finished second in 100-yard freestyle and second in 100-yard backstroke.

Ben Johnson, River Ridge, Jr. — 28 individual points at the county meet. Won the 200-yard individual medley and placed third in 500-yard freestyle.

Justin Bolsen, Creekview, So. — Scored 28 individual points at the county meet. Won the 100-yard backstroke and placed third in 100-yard butterfly.

Isaac Martin, Creekview — Scored 25 individual points at the county meet. Won the 100-yard breaststroke and placed sixth in 50-yard freestyle.

Dylan Dela-Vega, Cherokee, Fr. — Scored 23 individual points at the county meet. Third in 200-yard individual Medley and fourth in 500-yard freestyle.

Brennan Lindquist, Woodstock, Sr. — Scored 11 individual points at the county meet. Fourth in 100-yard breaststroke and 15th in 50-yard freestyle.
