Obituary for Norma June Schmidt Norma June Schmidt, age 82 of Ball Ground, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, January 10, 2020. No services are scheduled at this time. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Harold Schmidt, of Ball Ground; Her brother John VanLandingham of Michigan and Sister-in-Law Beverly Johnson of Michigan; Her children Richard (Heather) Cope of Canton, Christine (Kurt) Bushuiakovish of Holly Springs, William (Bonita) Cope of Naperville, IL., Robert Schmidt of Ball Ground, Laura DuBard of Mooresville, NC., Karen Hueni of Nokesville, VA., Keith (Jody) Schmidt Tacoma, WA., Donald Schmidt of Hagerstown, MD.; Her 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog and companion, Abby. Norma and Hal shared the kind of love and enduring connection which are the subjects of love stories. Their devotion to one another extended into their family and radiated onto anyone they met. Norma's selfless nature defined her life and the relationships she formed: Love First. She dedicated herself to caring for residents at Cameron Hall and gave so much of herself to improving the lives of others. She guided those diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in her support group with her gentle companionship and understanding. She was a faithful woman in all her ways who loved God and her church family at Ball Ground United Methodist Church. Norma truly was a blessing on this Earth and her kind, loving, generous soul will resonate for eternity. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the Schmidt family.
