Sara Nell Worley Burruss, age 92 passed away peacefully at her residence in Kennesaw on 04/27 /2019. Nell was the oldest child of John Taylor Worley and Gladys Green Worley, and was born and raised in the Clayton Community of Cherokee County, GA. She graduated from Canton High School in 1945, and married Edward Harris Burruss on 10/20/1947. After their marriage she and Harris moved to Atlanta and eventually Smyrna where they raised their family. Nell was a homemaker during her children's early years, and later worked in retail sales at Rich's/Macy's at the old Cobb Center until her retirement. After retirement, she and Harris relocated to Kennesaw where they resided until the time of their deaths.

Nell was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband of 69 years Edward Harris Burruss in 07/2016, a brother Robert "Bob" Worley, and her sister Helen Worley Chastain. She is survived by her two sons Stanley "Stan" Burruss (Mildred) of Albany, David Burruss (Sherry) of Vinings, grandsons Bryan Burruss (Danielle) of Elgin, SC, Bud Burruss (Michelle) of Holly Springs, Tommy Burruss, and Charlie Burruss both of Athens, great grandsons John and Griffin Burruss of Elgin, SC, Ford Burruss of Holly Springs, sister Mary Betty Yancey of Simpsonville, SC, brother Silas Worley of Canton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

At her request, a graveside service will take place at the Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, GA, on Saturday May 4, 2019, at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Dr. Gil Watson will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Calvary Children's Home, 1430 Lost Mountain Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127. Nell was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt and will be missed dearly by all of her family. Her oldest grandson, Bryan, described her as the best grandmother a boy could ever have. The family would like to especially thank the staff of VITAS Hospice and Angel Companions for the kind and gentle care they provided to our mother in her last few weeks on earth.
