Mr. Barry Kent McCurley, age 59, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at a Cartersville hospital. Mr. McCurley was born in Cherokee County, Georgia on July 31, 1960, son of the late Ray F. McCurley and the late Dorothy Sims McCurley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl L. Snyder McCurley, and by a brother, Wayne McCurley. Mr. McCurley was a member of the Jaycees of Canton, Kennesaw and Woodstock, was a 1986 Outstanding Young Men of America winner, was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges, and was a former City Councilman for the city of Holly Springs. Prior to retirement, he worked as the Dairy Manager for Kroger in Canton. Survivors include a stepson, Gary Cabe; step-grandchildren, Denver and Ivory; a brother, Doug McCurley; a brother-in-law, Theron Snyder; nieces and nephews. In accordance to his wishes, Mr. McCurley will be cremated, and all services will be private. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
