Michael Lee McArthur was born in Cherokee County to Claude H. McArthur and E. Jeanette Parker. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 40 years. He was also an active member of Hickory Flat Church where he served the Lord with passion and grace. Mike led many mission trips throughout the Southeast. He was President of the United Methodist Men of Hickory Flat. Mike was always actively involved in the lives of his children; he was a leader in both Boy scouts and Girl scouts. He coached baseball, basketball and softball; and he was a roadie for the Sequoyah High School Marching Band. He is survived by his wife Teresa C. McArthur, his mother Jeanette McArthur, his brother Wayne McArthur, his three sons Michael C. McArthur, Kevin N. McArthur and Casey R. McArthur, his daughter Kelly L. Graham, her husband Kris Graham, and his granddaughter McKenzie R. Graham. There will be a celebration of life service to be held today at Hickory Flat Church (4056 E. Cherokee Dr. Canton, GA) Thursday, October 24th. The family will receive friends starting at 6pm and the service will begin at 6:30pm. Dress casually and the family would like for those who attend to wear red in honor of Mike. Mike was a loving and caring husband, a wonderful and understanding father and a loyal friend. He will surely be missed by all that knew him.
