John Thomas Fuller

November 28, 1942 - July 5, 2019.

John is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Julia Morgan Fuller; his sons Scott Fuller (Gail) and Ashley Fuller; grandchildren Scarlett and Bryant Fuller; brother Bill Fuller (Michelle) of Pensacola, FL; niece Debbie Montgomery (Greg) of Pensacola, FL; Great Niece Katie Cutting of Biloxi, MS.

He was born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama, to Dorsey and Hazel (Daughtry) Fuller. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1965. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1965, attended Infantry Officer Candidate School in Ft. Benning and commissioned as a 2 nd LT. He was sent to Vietnam in 1967 as an infantry platoon leader and later as a company commander. Upon return from Vietnam he married Julia Morgan at the Main Post Chapel in Ft. Benning, Georgia on August 14, 1969.

John left the Army in 1975 to become a partner in a restaurant in Casey, South Carolina. He spent the next twelve years in the restaurant industry and then more than 20 years with Royal Cup coffee until he retired in 2008.

After retirement, John devoted much of his time to several charitable organizations; NSH Cherokee Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. He was a member of American Legion Post 316 for many years serving as Adjutant and post chairman of both the GA Boys State program and the annual High School Oratorical Contest. He was a devoted family man who loved and enjoyed his family.

He was a passionate fan of all things BAMA - Roll Tide Roll!!

Services of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Woodstock United Methodist Church, Towne Lake Parkway, at 11:00 am (visitation at 10:15 am at Latimer Hall adjoining the church). Final interment will be at National Cemetery, Canton, GA at 10:00 am on Monday, July 15th.
