A 20-year-old Woodstock resident was killed and two other people injured in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 on Friday morning, authorities said.

According to Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Capt. Jay Baker:

Chase Lee Ingram, 20, of Woodstock died when the GMC Terrain he was driving north on I-75 left the road and went into the grass median near the Woodstock Road overpass Friday morning. The vehicle traveled about 600 feet before striking a tree. The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m.

Two other people in the vehicle were seriously injured and taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the crash is under investigation Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit.
