Insurance Group of the Southeast in Woodstock has been acquired by a regional risk management, insurance and benefits consulting company.

Hutchinson Traylor has announced the acquisition of the Insurance Group of the Southeast, a full-service independent insurance agency in Woodstock.

Effective Feb. 1, Hutchinson Traylor acquired the assets and customer contracts of the Insurance Group of the Southeast, and the personnel joined their team. The merged business operates under the Hutchinson Traylor brand.

“Insurance Group of the Southeast not only fits well within our team culture, they’ve also built an excellent reputation within several commercial niches, particularly the assisted living and memory care communities, that will further enhance our offerings and expertise within our commercial (property and casualty insurance) division,” said C. Wesley Smith, president of Hutchinson Traylor.

“We have a deep respect for the history and culture of Hutchinson Traylor. We are excited about the vast amount of resources, new products and services, and technology that we will now be offering to our clients to serve them even better,” said Jeff Rowell, co-owner of Insurance Group of the Southeast.
