An arrest has been made in a Tuesday evening shooting that left one man injured, authorities said.
Zytron Sands, 22, of Canton was charged with four counts of aggravated assault and four counts of aggravated battery. He was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remained in the Cherokee County jail Wednesday morning.
According to Capt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office:
At about 6 p.m. deputies responded to an area of Reinhardt College Parkway at Old Donaldson Road after receiving reports of gunfire nearby.
As deputies responded, a man arrived at Northside Hospital Cherokee with gunshot wounds.
Sands reportedly got into an argument with another man and shot him four times with a 9-mm pistol. The pistol was reported stolen in Florida and was recovered from woods near where Sands was arrested.
The victim, a 25-year-old man, was treated for gunshot wounds to his legs and released from Northside Hospital Cherokee.
Deputies were assisted by officers from the Canton and Holly Springs police departments, Baker said.
