The Cherokee County School Board’s August meeting has been moved by a week after it was canceled Thursday, a school district spokeswoman reported Friday.
The school board meeting is now 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at the Dr. Frank R.Petruzielo Educational Services Facility, 1205 Bluffs Parkway in Canton. Prior to the meeting, school board members will gather for a work session at 6 p.m.
The meeting was canceled due to a gas leak that had Bluffs Parkway closed Thursday afternoon.
A new agenda, recommended by Superintendent Brian Hightower, for the meeting will be posted Monday at www.cherokeek12.net.
Some of the topics that were scheduled to be considered at Thursday’s meeting include a new five-year strategic plan, a capital outlay fund application for a health care science lab at Sequoyah High School and expansions at Woodstock Middle School and Woodstock High School, as well as monthly student recognitions and personnel changes.
