The retro-style retail chain Rocket Fizz is among the newest retailers in The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in Woodstock, bringing a unique blend of soda flavors and retro candy to Cherokee County.
The store, which opened in October, also sells retro style signs/plates, toys and gadgets.
“We offer all sorts of unique soda combinations like bacon, butter, strawberry shortcake, ranch, and buffalo wings, to name a few,” store owner and manager Michael Samaan said. “We have hundreds of different flavors.”
Samaan added that the goal with the store is to go with unusual flavors to attract customers and stand out from the crowd. Along with soda, the store also sells various candies, ranging from current favorites like Reese’s peanut butter cups or Starburst gummies, to retro candy favorites from the 1960s and ’70s.
“The whole store is designed to give off a bit of a retro vibe,” Samaan said. “The color scheme and layout, along with the items being sold, make it feel like an old candy store.”
The location was previously occupied by “Crabtree & Evelyn,” a body, fragrance, and home care products company. Samaan said the area was perfect for another Rocket Fizz location given how the area has grown over the short few years the outlets have been open.
“It’s one of the busiest shopping destinations in the metro Atlanta area,” Samaan said. “We liked the location, the open area, and how busy the outlets became in a short time. This location is perfect for a fun store such as ours.”
Charlie Loughran, General Manager at The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, said the addition of Rocket Fizz to the store mix at The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta has brought a whole new experience for its shoppers.
“It’s a very unique store,” she said. “It carries more than 2,000 types of candy from around the world, 300 types of soda, more than 70 types of root beer, as well as a large selection of salt-water taffy.”
Loughran added that the nostalgic feel of the store will lead people to recognizing many types of candy from their childhood that isn’t sold anywhere else.
