Reinhardt University celebrated the opening of the first electric vehicle charging stations on campus Wednesday.

Three electric vehicle charging stations are now located near Roberts Hall, Tarpley Education Center, and between the Funk Heritage Center and East Apartments. The university held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday with Georgia Power at the Tarpley Education charging station. Those who had a hand in bringing the charging stations to the university, as well as university officials, spoke at the event.

Georgia Power helped provide funding assistance for the stations through its Make Ready Electric Transportation Program. Through this program, Georgia Power can provide funding assistance to business customers with a variety of emission-free electric transport needs including passenger vehicle, transit bus, package delivery, school bus, airport ground support, and more.
