Rick and Scott Steiner, pro wrestling legends, will be the Grand Marshalls for this year's parade in Ball Ground.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots campaign. Collection boxes for the toys will be available at City Park and along the parade route on Main Street.

Grand marshals for the parade this year will be Rick and Scott Steiner. The Steiner Brothers are best known for their tenure with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where they were World Tag Team Champions seven times. The Steiners found success in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where they held the IWGP Tag Team Championship twice, and the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), where they won the World Tag Team Championship twice. The Steiner Brothers will sign autographs and participate in photo ops starting at 4 p.m. at the Barrel House Coffee, 275 Gilmer Ferry Rd. Suite 5, in the heart of downtown.

The parade will also feature the Creekview High School Marching Band, Shriners, the Peachtree Clown Alley, the Red Devil Clowns, twirlers, princesses, superheroes, Mickey Mouse, dancers, floats, tractors, antique cars and more.

“We have had an unbelievable response this year,” Tim Cavender, parade chairman, said of people interested in participating in the parade. "Plus, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving, too. This parade is the only one where Santa brings snow with him when he travels down Main Street."

Attendees are encouraged to get to the event early to visit the vendor area to do Christmas shopping. The vendor area will be open at 4 p.m. Some of the items that will be for sale include Christmas ornaments, Christmas candy, jewelry, wreaths, soaps, wood signs, leather goods, and home décor. Many of the restaurants and businesses will be open for extended hours.

The S-Gaugers Atlantic Coast Line Model Railroad Club will have a large model train display at the Old Masonic Building on Main Street in Ball Ground starting at 4 p.m. on the day of the parade. The trains will run until noon that Saturday.

After the parade, the cosplayers will gather at City Park for photos. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their arrival, and will be located on the stage at City Park for free photos. Those who want photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus will need to bring their own camera.

“I do encourage attendees to get to the event a little early,” said Cavender. “This is an awesome event that the whole family can enjoy."
