Police are investigating a shooting at the Wellstar Health Park in Holly Springs, where they say a Brinks security guard was shot in an armed robbery.
Police responded to the shooting at about 7:46 a.m. Wednesday, Holly Springs Police Department said in a release. The guard was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in stable condition.
“There is an active investigation located at the Wellstar Health Park. Please stay clear of the location at this time. We will advise when the area is back open,” Holly Springs Police posted on its Facebook page.
The health park was open to patients through the urgent care access, police said.
A representative of the police department did not say whether an arrest had been made in the shooting.
“The Investigation is still ongoing at this time. I don’t have any further information as of now,” Officer April Van Alstine said in an email, adding, “There is no threat to the community.”
No Wellstar staff or patients were injured in the shooting, according to Wellstar Health System.
“Early this morning, Wellstar Health System learned of a shooting that took place outside Wellstar Cherokee Health Park. We thank the officers of the Holly Springs Police Department for their quick response,” Wellstar said in a statement.
