Never Alone Ministries, a Woodstock-based food pantry, will be hosting its second annual Never Walk/Run Alone 5K on June 29 at Etowah River Park.

Never Alone Ministries began in 2013 when Lamar Green saw a need and decided to fill it. Operating right off of Downtown Woodstock, Never Alone serves about 300 families, putting more than 18 tons of food into the cupboards of the food insecure in Cherokee County.

The Never Walk/Run Alone 5K benefits Never Alone food pantry and is a timed run and walk welcoming all ages as well as strollers and dogs (on a 6-foot leash). Registration is open now and is $25 until June 17 when the fee will increase to $30. Walk-up registration will be at the first packet pick-up from 4-6:30 p.m. on June 28.

The race will begin at 8 a.m. June 29 and awards will be presented to overall first place male and female, top 3 finishers in age categories 12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 and over, most spirited team, best family/ team costume and top fundraising team.

In case of rain, the race will go on, delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race, no refunds will be provided.
