A Canton man has been indicted on charges accusing him of sexually abusing a girl for two years, court records show.

A Cherokee County grand jury indicted Enrique Paiz, 22, of Canton, Monday on two counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation.

According to his arrest warrant, Paiz is accused of sexually abusing a girl starting in 2019, when she was 14 years old, over a two-year span.

He has an arraignment scheduled Aug. 12, per court filings.

Paiz remains in custody with a $25,000 bond, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

An indictment is a formal charge of felony offenses, and defendants are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
