A man sought in connection with a Feb. 9 shooting at the Waldan Pond apartments in Acworth was arrested by federal authorities Tuesday and faces charges in Cherokee and two other counties.

According to Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Capt. Jay Baker:

Eric Jordan Elam, 26 of Acworth, was arrested Tuesday in Stone Mountain by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Elam was wanted on warrants for aggravated assault and armed robbery for the incident at Waldan Pond in which he is accused of shooting a 24-year-old Kennesaw man. The victim in that case told investigators he was at the apartments to sell Elam a pair of shoes when the shooting occurred.

Cherokee Sheriff’s Investigators also charged Elam with and additional count of armed robbery stemming from a Feb. 3 incident at the Bells Ferry Road Walmart where Elam is accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint and taking her phone and cash.

As of Tuesday morning Elam was being held in the DeKalb County jail where he faces additional charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault. He is also wanted in Gwinnett County for probation violation.

Elam is known locally as the hip hop performer Ahuto Dakkid.
