4th of July

The city of Woodstock’s Fourth of July celebrations will include a 5K, a parade, activities for families and fireworks at dusk.

The City of Woodstock has announced its lineup of events to celebrate Independence Day Monday, July 5. A full slate of events returns this year after last year’s parade was canceled and the Freedom Run was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The day kicks off with the 24th annual Woodstock Freedom Run 5K at 7:15 a.m., with runners meeting at the Morgan's Ace Hardware parking lot. The city’s annual parade will start at 10 a.m., beginning at Woodstock Elementary School. The parade will travel down Main Street, through downtown and conclude at the Sam’s Club on Ga. Highway 92.

After the parade, a festival will be held at the Park at City Center until 3 p.m. The festival will feature food, inflatables, children’s games, arts and crafts, a wide range of vendors and music from DJ Ronnie.

The day concludes at dusk with a fireworks show behind the Lowe’s shopping center at Ga. Highway 92 and Interstate 575. Traffic directions for the fireworks show can be found at www.woodstockga.gov.
