Authorities are searching for the person who reportedly shot a Kennesaw man in Cherokee County last Sunday.
According to Capt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office:
Deputies were dispatched at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday to Hidden Falls Mobile Home Park, off Bells Ferry Road in Acworth when a call to 911 reported someone had been shot.
When they arrived, deputies found a 24-year-old Kennesaw man lying in the doorway of a residence in the park.
The victim had suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and arm and was taken to WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center where as of Monday morning his condition was stable.
Deputies discovered the man had driven to Hidden Falls, where his girlfriend lives, after being shot moments earlier at the Waldan Pond apartment complex on Bells Ferry Road about a mile south of the mobile home park, Baker said. “It was determined the suspect fled in a gold Infiniti which was later found abandoned off of Wooten Lake Road in Cobb County,” he said.
The victim told detectives he was at Waldan Pond to sell a pair of shoes in a deal that had been arranged online. The victim said the man took the shoes from him and then shot him. The victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the shooter.
Investigators are following up on leads, Baker said.
