Holly Springs

The Holly Springs Police Department was recognized as the “Agency of the Year” by the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for the Appalachian Trail Traffic Enforcement Network district.

The honor was presented Thursday evening at the annual district banquet in Gainesville.

The Holly Springs Police Department is a partner among federal, state and local governments to improve and expand the state’s highway safety activities, resulting in a reduction of traffic fatalities and serious injury crashes.

“Any effort we can take to make our highways safer is worthwhile,” Chief Mike Carswell said. “I’m glad we could participate at such a high level with our GOHS partners.”
