The Holly Springs City Council has awarded a $6.6 million contract to Vertical Earth for mixed-use site work and infrastructure for the city’s town center project.
Vertical Earth, which was awarded the contract Monday, will provide a number of construction services. Some of these include sanitary sewer, grading and site walls, storm and water system, paving, and signage.
City Manager Rob Logan said Vertical Earth will also provide its services for the construction of various town center buildings including the city hall, multi-use buildings, and amphitheater. The site work is expected to take about a year, to be completed in late 2022, and then construction on the buildings will start.
The next request for bids that will go out for the project is for the town center parking deck later this summer, Logan said. The parking deck is expected to be three stories and include 335 spaces, Logan said.
The $100.6 million town center project on Hickory Road is planned to include a new city hall, amphitheater, event green, three mixed-use buildings, retail and office space, 260 rental units, 30 single-family housing units, and 36 townhomes.
