The Funk Heritage Center in Waleska will be participating in Museum Day on Sept. 18, offering free admission to visitors.

Visitors wanting to experience the various exhibits at the Funk Heritage Center in Waleska will not have to worry about an admission fee Saturday, Sept. 18.

As it has in the past, the museum will be participating in Museum Day, an annual event hosted by the Smithsonian magazine. During Museum Day, all participating locations will offer free admission to guests presenting a Museum Day ticket. Museum Day was canceled last year due to COVID-19, but has returned this year to give the public opportunities to explore museums near them and learn more about what they have to offer.

Funk Heritage Center Director Jeff Bishop said he and others at the museum were excited to be taking part in the event once again, allowing area residents the chance to explore its exhibits at no cost.
