Evidence collected in alleged armed robbery Tuesday night in Acworth.

Four people have been charged with armed robbery in connection with an incident Tuesday night at an Acworth apartment complex.

According to Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Capt. Jay Baker:

At about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies spoke to two people at the Oak Grove Precinct who reported they were robbed after being invited to a party at the Cherokee Summit apartment complex on Megan Court in Acworth.

“One of the victims advised he received the invitation from a female he had met at a party recently,” Baker said Wednesday. “Shortly after they arrived at the apartment, three males – unknown to the victims – entered the apartment and robbed them at gunpoint. The suspects reportedly stole a cell phone, tennis shoes, wallet with cash and ear buds.”

Deputies went to the apartment complex and saw a man fitting the exact description given by the victims outside the apartment where the victims said they were robbed.

“Deputies surrounded the apartment when a large group of people began to exit the apartment. Deputies were able to identify the female who invited the victims to the apartment,” Baker said. “Two males attempted to exit off the porch of the apartment but returned inside after seeing the deputy who was covering the rear of the apartment.”

While gathering information, deputies saw that one of the suspects was wearing a pair of shoes like the ones reported stolen.

A search warrant was obtained and deputies discovered a loaded .22 caliber rifle with silencer and a .40 caliber handgun. They found one of the victim’s wallet in a trash can with several identifying cards of the victim. Deputies also located the stolen shoes, ear buds and cell phone.
