WOODSTOCK — A downtown Woodstock building is open for a new business since it was vacated by its original tenant, Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza and Grill in Woodstock.

Fire Stone closed earlier this month after its owner moved to Colarado. The restaurant’s last day was Saturday, according to the building owner.

The restaurant made a Facebook post Tuesday announcing the closure, and by Wednesday the Facebook page was shut down. As of Wednesday afternoon, Fire Stone’s website was still active.

Outside the front door, there are signs that read “closed for maintenance.”

Cheri Morris, president of Morris & Fellows and owner of the building, said she is in talks with potential tenants to open another restaurant there soon.

“We’re very focused on a local owner operator of a great restaurant. We believe only the leadership a talented, passionate local owner can make a restaurant be worthy of the great environment of downtown Woodstock,” she said.

The main level of the building is 4,650 square feet, which includes a private dining room, plus a 2,200 square foot patio. There’s also a 2,500 square foot space upstairs that is available for lease. For more information, visit www.morrisandfellows.com.
