Fat Shack is opening its doors Friday in the Cherokee Commons Shopping Center in southwest Cherokee County, serving up indulgent sandwiches, burgers and wings.

The Colorado-based chain will open its first Georgia location at 11 a.m. Friday at 6199 Highway 92, Unit 200 near Acworth.

The quick-service restaurant's signature dish is the "unabashedly high-calorie" Fat Sandwich - loaded up with chicken fingers, fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and honey mustard, according to Fat Shack.

The fast-casual restaurant is also known for their deep-fried desserts, including fried Oreos and fried cheesecake bites. Their entire menu will be available for delivery via services such as DoorDash, GrubHub and Uber Eats.

The company was featured on the Season 10 finale of Shark Tank, where they struck a deal with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

The Acworth location will be operated by franchise owner Mikey Kumar, an entrepreneur who is a long-time resident of Marietta. Fat Shack specializes in late-night service and will be open until 1 a.m. on weeknights and 3 a.m. on weekends.

In-store guests who share their opening day post on Facebook will receive a free set of three Deep-Fried Oreos.

Fat Shack features a spacious dining room and will have enhanced health and safety protocols including masks, distancing, and plexiglass barriers at the counter.
