Four people have been indicted by a Cherokee County grand jury on charges of armed robbery.
Omar Faines, 19, from Acworth, Kristopher Maxey, 20, from Canton, Courtney Watson, 18, from Acworth, and Nasir Stover, 16, from Canton, are charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and robbery by sudden snatching, according to an indictment filed last week. Watson is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by first offender probationer.
The indictment charges the four with pointing a handgun at a man and woman and taking a knife and phone from the man, and another phone from the woman, on or about Nov. 3.
Faines, Maxey and Watson were booked in November in the Cherokee County jail, where as of Feb. 21 they remained without bond, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Capt. Jay Baker said. Court records show that Stover was in custody in Cobb County.
Maxey and Stover have entered not guilty pleas, according to court documents.
The case has a court hearing scheduled for March 8.
An indictment is a formal charge of felony offenses, and defendants are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
