The Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration Office will open several locations for residents to vote this October ahead of Election Day on Nov. 3.

Early voting will be held between Oct. 12 and 23 at the elections office, located at 2782 Marietta Highway, Suite 100, Canton, the former elections office at 400 East Main St. in Canton and the South Annex at 7545 Main St. in Woodstock.

“The decision to include our former office as an early voting location will not only help to alleviate any parking issues at the Canton tax campus where our new office is located, but will eliminate confusion for those voters who are not aware of our move,” Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration Director Kim Stancil said.

The elections office relocated to its current location on Marietta Highway in late August.

During the early voting window, all three locations will be open for voters from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday voting is set for Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at both elections office locations, the South Annex, the Hickory Flat Library at 2740 East Cherokee Drive in Canton, the Ball Ground Public Library at 435 Old Canton Road in Ball Ground and the Rose Creek Public Library at 4476 Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock. Advance voting begins Oct. 26 and will run through Oct. 30 and will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day at both elections offices, the South Annex and the Hickory Flat, Ball Ground and Rose Creek libraries. There will be no voting on Monday, Nov. 2. In addition, ballot drop boxes are now available at the elections office location on Marietta Highway and the South Annex. Both locations are monitored by video cameras for security and are available 24 hours a day.
