Wood and Acord

Cherokee County Probate Judge Keith Wood was presented the Instructor of the Year award by Judge Virginia Acord, chair of the Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia

The Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia has named Cherokee County Probate Judge Keith Wood as the recipient of its 2021 Instructor of the Year award.

The Council’s Instructor of the Year award is designed to recognize an individual who has

provided exemplary training for the benefit of probate judges across the state.

Incoming council president and Harris County Probate Judge Thomas Lakes lauded Wood for his willingness to provide training for probate judges and clerks.

“Judge Wood is a talented instructor,” he said in a statement. “When we see him on the training agenda for one of our conferences, we know that we will get a period of instruction that is both informative and interesting. He has a unique way of conveying complex ideas and situations whenever he trains.”

Outgoing Training Council chair Judge Virginia Acord noted that Wood consistently receives high ratings on post-training evaluations. Previously, Wood served as the chair of the Probate Judges’ Training Council.
