E.T. Booth Middle School media specialist Amanda Graves is advancing to the state competition to be named the 2021 Georgia Media Specialist of the Year.

Graves was named the Region 2 Library Media Specialist of the Year and will advance to the state level competition, Cherokee County School District announced Friday.

In February, Graves was named the school district's Media Specialist of the Year. Graves joined the district in 2016 after service as a media specialist in Cobb County, has earned bachelor, master and education specialist degrees and is studying to earn a doctorate from the University of West Georgia in school improvement with a focus on media specialist skills. She has earned numerous accolades over her career, including the Intellectual Freedom Award and the Exceptional School Library Award from the Georgia Library Media Association.
