Parents who want to transfer their children within Cherokee County School District will be able to do so soon.

The window for school choice reassignments within the Cherokee County School District is Feb. 1 through March 1.

Fourteen CCSD elementary schools are “open” for the 2020-21 school year, meaning classroom space is available for students from outside the attendance zone. Among the schools open for requests are four of the six CCSD STEM and Fine Arts Academies. One middle school and one high school are also open.

More than 2,100 CCSD students currently use reassignment to select a school outside their attendance zone. For more information and applications, visit cherokeek12.net/Content2/district-forms.

Information about all CCSD school choice initiatives is available in the “CHOICES” document on the district website. High school choice options such as virtual school and dual enrollment have varying timelines depending upon the program; parents should contact their child’s counselor to discuss these opportunities.
