A brewery could open on Knox Bridge Highway near Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and RaceTrac.
The Canton City Council will hear a request to annex and rezone almost two acres at 9657 Knox Bridge Highway for the purpose of operating a brewery at its July 1 meeting. The request is from Laurel Canyon Brewing, LLC.
The applicant, Ronald Baggio, is looking to construct a brewery that is around 6,000 square feet, Ken Patton, community development director, told city council members Thursday. They plan to have a large outdoor seating and green space, outdoor area, a beer garden, roll up garage-style doors, children’s area, live music, and TVs,
Also July 1, council members will also hear a rezoning and annexation request to construct 150 homes along Old Doss Road.
The Old Doss Road request comes from Old Doss Properties, LLC. The real estate company wants to annex 75 acres at 560 Old Doss Rd., and amend the area master plan to allow for both attached and detached homes, according to Patton. This proposed development, which would be located off Highway 20 near Hobby Lobby, would be made up of three areas to allow different housing types.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. July 1 at city hall, 110 Academy St. in Canton. The meeting will also be available online at canton.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
