Bert's Big Adventure has announced that 5-year old Canton resident Jimmy O. and his family are one of 13 children and families that will be a part of the yearly trip to Walt Disney World.
The winners will embark on the non-profit organization's 18th annual trip to Walt Disney World later this month. The trip will be five days and all expenses will be paid.
“It is such an honor to welcome these amazing kids and their families to Bert’s Big Adventure,” said Bert’s Big Adventure founder and host of “The Bert Show”, Bert Weiss. “The trip will be an adventure they will never forget and we are so excited to be sharing this truly magical experience with them!”
To qualify for Bert’s Big Adventure, a child must be between the ages of five to 12 years old and live in “The Bert Show” radio listening area, prove financial need and have never been to Walt Disney World. To date, Bert’s Big Adventure has served more than 230 children and their families through its trip to Disney, Fairy Godparent Volunteer Program and Reunion Adventures.
Established in 2002 by Bert Weiss, host of nationally syndicated morning radio show, "The Bert Show”, Bert's Big Adventure is a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.
Following the annual trip, Bert’s Big Adventure provides year-round support through initiatives such as the Reunion Adventures, the Fairy Godparent volunteer program and additional charitable services. The trip and programs create a community of families that establish lasting friendships with others facing similar challenges.
