A new local sushi lounge is coming to downtown Woodstock July 2.
TEN Sushi Lounge will serve Japanese cuisine “re-imagined under a modern gastronomic lens surrounded by sober and elegant decor Japanese architecture and artwork,” according to the restaurant.
The name of the restaurant was inspired by Japanese philosophy, TEN Sushi Lounge wrote on its social media pages. According to the restaurant, the Japanese word “ten” means “Heavenly Sky, a divine.”
TEN Sushi Lounge, according to their website, wants to offer a glimpse into “the culinary creations of renowned Japanese culinary philosophy” under Chef Kiyotaka Kimura, Chef Santo, and Chef Nikki.
Sushi runs in Kimura’s family, according to the restaurant: his great-grandfather, his grandfather and his mother owned a sushi restaurant in Japan.
The grand opening will be July 2 and there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony July 12.
TEN Sushi Lounge is located 380 Chambers St. in Woodstock.
