Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute Sports Medicine has added Dr. Joel Pranckun to its Canton and Woodstock locations.

Pranckun is an orthopedic surgeon. His areas of focus include adult and pediatric sports medicine, cartilage preservation and restoration and minimally-invasive surgery for the shoulder, hip, and knee. He has spoken on those topics at a number of conferences and other forums.

Pranckun said he enjoys working with athletes and helping them optimize their bodies to achieve their maximum potential.

“I consider patient education to be an important factor in improving health outcomes,” Pranckun said. “I try to be very interactive throughout each visit, using videos, models and more to explain complex conditions to my patients in an easy-to-understand manner.”

The Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute Sports Medicine includes a team of clinical experts and offers a full complement of surgical and medical consultants, a comprehensive sports concussion program, sports nutrition, physical therapy and a sports performance and innovative research initiative.

Pranckun is seeing patients at 470 Northside Cherokee Blvd., Suite 180, Canton and at 900 Towne Lake Parkway, Suite 320, Woodstock.
