A Sutallee woman was killed in a single vehicle crash Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Capt. Jay Baker:

Cherokee Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident Sunday at approximately 10 a.m. on Butterworth Road near Larkwood Drive in Canton. Witnesses told deputies the vehicle left road and struck a culvert causing the vehicle to flip on its side and come to rest in the middle of Butterworth Road. The driver and only occupant in the vehicle, Sheryl Blalock, 66 years old, of Sutallee, died at the scene.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the accident.
