Over the next 30 years the population of Cherokee County will grow by 138,922 the Atlanta Regional Commission said Thursday.

The new report entitled What's Next ATL shows the metropolitan Atlanta area adding nearly 3 million more people by 2050. The ARC predicts Cherokee County with a total population of 401,622 then. That's an increase of 52.8 percent from today's figure of 262,700.
