The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a driver accused of seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit and run.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a hit and run at about 3:13 p.m. in which a pedestrian was struck on Bells Ferry Road just south of Highway 92.
The female pedestrian, 15 years old, has not been identified. She was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries, then flown by helicopter to Scottish Rite Hospital.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the accident.
After speaking with witnesses and reviewing video near the collision, authorities have determined the truck that struck the pedestrian is a large white truck. Anyone who recognizes the truck or has any information on the accident is asked to call investigators at 470-281-8032.
