UPDATE at 2:25 p.m. The road is now open.

UPDATE: The road is still blocked and power lines still down. The road is expected to remain closed another hour or two, authorities said at 11:23 a.m.

Several trees have fallen across Ga. Highway 108 at Grady Street in Waleska, according to the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency.

Power crews are enroute to clear power lines before trees can be removed from the road, EMA spokesman Mark Harris said in an email Tuesday morning.

"Please avoid the area if possible and expect delays in the area," he said.
