Reinhardt College Parkway has been reopened after a tree fell across power lines, temporarily closing a lane, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office reported Thursday.

The road was closed on the northbound side between Laurel Canyon and Lower Burris Road Thursday morning until about 1 p.m.

Because of the tree, traffic lights in the area were out.

Power was restored to the intersection a little after 1 p.m., Cherokee Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jay Baker said.
